White Hart Community Groups
White Hart Community Groups was formerly the Volunteer Centre North Warwickshire which started in 1980.
One of Accelerate's smaller partners, WHCG help to support participants in Atherstone and surrounding villages.
Based at White Hart House on Long Street in Atherstone.
The organisation offers local people the chance to take part in a variety of activities, including a weekly craft group, helping on an allotment, computer club and a memory cafe for people with dementia and their carers to meet in informal atmosphere and chat together.
WHCG also have an Accelerate Journey Guide visit once a week to help participants to look for work and up skill towards looking for employment in the future, Julie at WHCG has recently started to deliver online training courses in Atherstone which cover:
- Food Hygiene Training Level 2
- Health & Safety at Work
- First Aid at Work
Julie offers one to one help and support with any of the above training, over the phone during Covid-19, otherwise support is normally in White Hart House.
Home support requires access to a computer, smartphone or tablet and wifi.
Julie helps to support people with any money issues, isolation problems, shopping, collecting prescriptions, etc. particularly during the Covid-19 outbreak by working with Accelerate partners and other organisations in the Atherstone community.
