Based at Darlaston House in Bulkington, Volunteer Friends are a valuable asset to the Accelerate project.
As part of the Accelerate project, Volunteer Friends assists participants with accessing learning, training and job opportunities, including; woodwork groups, working with the elderly, cooking classes and IT lessons alongside having access to journey guides to help you along your way. You will also gain various skills, confidence building, break barriers, have access to work experience and volunteer placements along with our support and guidance so you’re not in this alone.

In the cookery classes Volunteer Friends hold on a regular basis for anyone to attend, the focus is on healthy eating and saving money and is open to any ability.
During the Covid-19 outbreak, Volunteer Friends have been delivering cookery sessions via telephone coaching or video call so that participants can still learn in their own homes. Equipment is available for loan and supplies to create recipes delivered free to learners homes using no contact delivery. Spaces are still available on a one-to-one basis
